Christmas By The Sea Returns to Blackpool for 2024

Blackpool’s beloved Christmas By The Sea village is back, and this year it promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Launching on Friday, November 15, the event will transform the Tower Festival Headland into a magical winter wonderland. Visitors can look forward to extended opening hours for the free-to-use skating rink, which will remain open every day (except Christmas Day) until 5 January 2025.

Building on last year’s record-breaking success, the village will feature a wide range of family-friendly attractions. Along with the ice rink, guests can enjoy festive light installations, projection shows, themed log cabins serving food, drinks, and gifts, artificial snowfalls, Christmas trees, and the famous festive tram rides.

This year’s event introduces some exciting new additions, including a German Swing Grill, Snow Dome Waltzers, a Helter Skelter slide, and the Ice Breaker thrill ride. Back by popular demand is the Star Flyer, a 196ft-high swing ride that promises spectacular views of the illuminated coastline.

In addition to the Christmas village, visitors can continue to enjoy the extended Blackpool Illuminations display, which will light up the seafront until January 5, 2025. The staging of Christmas By The Sea is made possible by Blackpool Council, Blackpool Transport, and Triangle Attractions.
