It’s time to celebrate Christmas by the sea!
Blackpool’s famous seafront is transforming into a festive wonderland as the annual Christmas By The Sea village takes shape on the Tower Festival Headland, set for an exciting grand opening on Friday, November 15.
This event promises to be bigger than ever, bringing joy to residents and visitors alike with a blend of traditional festive magic and brand new experiences.
The opening event kicks off at 5pm with a dazzling showcase by the Blackpool Ice Drome Charities Association (BIDCA) skaters. Audiences will get a sneak peek of their enchanting Christmas Ice Show, Snow White: A Fairytale Adventure On Ice, which will be performed in full later this season. The beloved characters like Snow White, the dwarfs and the Evil Queen come to life in an imaginative twist on the classic story, offering unexpected surprises and a soundtrack packed with unique music choices.
The talented performers from Scream Theatre School return for a second year, treating the crowd to a high-energy mix of musical theatre and festive songs that’s sure to bring the holiday spirit alive.
Adding even more excitement, with Strictly Come Dancing also in town for its annual appearance at the iconic Tower Ballroom, there’s a buzz in the air that the dancers might join in the festivities, making the opening night even more special.
The Christmas By The Sea village, open every day from noon to 9pm until January 5, 2025, will feature an array of holiday attractions, including a free-to-use skating rink, thrilling rides like the Snow Dome Waltzer and Star Flyer and new experiences such as a helter skelter and German Swing Grill.
Families can also enjoy a snowfall area, projection shows and the extended Illuminations display that lights up the seafront, creating a magical atmosphere all season long.
In collaboration with Blackpool Council, Blackpool Transport and Triangle Attractions, this year’s event also features a specially themed tram that will debut soon, adding a unique twist to Blackpool’s transport system.
With four-hour parking at selected Blackpool Council car parks for just £2, it’s even easier to take part in this festive celebration.
